The environmental impact of disposable wipes

Join the fight against environmental pollution caused by wipes! It’s time to take action and stop this problem from getting worse. We all know that some wipe manufacturers claim their products are made to naturally degrade but let’s get it straight – they don’t! Years ago, we might have believed in these claims too, until we saw them littering our beaches and blocking up sewage systems.

It’s frustrating because there are no warnings on their packaging telling people not to flush them down the toilet or even a simple picture of a crossed-out toilet bowl. As a result, we see more and more blockages being caused by wipes every day.

But what can we do about it? Firstly, spread awareness among your friends and family about how harmful flushing wipes is for our environment. Secondly, dispose of used wet-wipes properly – throw them into bins instead of flushing them down toilets where they will end up in landfills anyway!

We understand why many people use wet-wipes as an alternative for toilet paper; baby diapers need changing frequently throughout each day while make-up remover requires thorough cleaning without damaging skin cells or causing irritation-however using disposable materials such as single-use plastics only adds unnecessary waste which harms both us humans living here on earth alongside marine life who suffer most due human negligence towards nature conservation efforts.

Solution for wastewater treatment plants

So, join us today in making small changes around your home like switching over reusable cloth towels rather than relying solely upon disposables items when possible.

Together, we can make significant differences one step at-a-time.

Whenever I use a wipe, I make sure I read they are made 98% cellulose fibres and still I try not to flush them.

Regarding the solutions we can see at wastewater treatment plants, for example, we would like to briefly mention our unit called Diablo.

This is a compact unit fitted with a hopper for grinding, cleaning, compacting and dewatering those solids trapped at the bar screens. The residues are transferred to the discharge pipe where they are compacted and dewatered.

Therefore, we achieve a drier compact solid drastically reducing odours and getting the product ready to be taken to the landfill.
